I End on Sundays
Don’t remember where I got this information from — I read (lots!), I absorb, and I never forget… except maybe the source, thanks to Net Information Overload… likely have the link in my Favorites folder, but heck if I know what it is among the tons already in there — but I don’t care. Because the data’s good, at least in my experience.
Seems that someone surveyed a bunch of eBay merchants on the Best Day to End an Auction. And the answer is (no fair looking at the title above)…
Sunday. So says nearly 60% of all respondents.
Second best is Monday, at over 10%. That leaves around just 30% to divvy up among the remaining five days (in other words, who cares?).
I’ve been doing Sundays ever since. And by george, I do get them sold on Sundays. Almost always, unlike with my listings that end on other days. Even better: I see more of those highly-desirable bidding wars happen on Sundays.
Does that mean we can ignore the other days? Depends on your goals — there are other reasons for selling on eBay besides, well, just selling. But if all you want is to maximize the chances of your product selling (and at a high price at that), ending on Sunday is it.
